Night anxiety, the difficulty to calm the mind for the worries of the day

Yes, despite the fatigue and exhaustion after a stressful day of work, you can not relax and sleep, you are tossing and turning in bed and stay alert, you may be suffering from nighttime anxiety. The condition is characterized by the difficulty of reassuring the mind as a result of day-to-day worries.

How to identify nocturnal anxiety
When we do not deal with the anxiety generated throughout the day at the time it occurs, it ends up presenting in the night period, the space reserved for rest and a restful sleep.

The worry, fear, and nervousness that appear at bedtime are common experiences of those who suffer from nighttime anxiety, as well as difficulty falling asleep and sudden awakenings during the night.

Insecurity about the future and anticipation of negative events are factors that make it difficult to "unplug" from the problems of everyday life and relax the body and mind to sleep. The lack of sleep, then, makes the person feel tense, nervous and enter a vicious circle of anxiety that prevents rest.

How to fight nighttime anxiety
Some simple measures that help mitigate nighttime anxiety are going to bed only when you feel sleepy and opt for light foods at dinner, as well as practicing meditation techniques and deep breathing before sleeping.

It is also important to maintain a regular sleep routine with specific hours. The room must be dark, silent and free of distractions. You should also avoid taking the computer or cell phone to bed because they can increase anxiety and compromise rest with artificial lighting.

If the problem prevails, it is always recommended to look for a psychologist and/or psychiatrist who can help in the most serious situations.
