How much should you exercise per week?

Exercise is very healthy, that is public knowledge. However, it is not good to exceed the amount of time you exercise per week. 


To lose weight and keep it
Burn calories is difficult, but not impossible. To favor the process and then preserve the result, you should exercise at least one hour a day, 5 times a week. 

The type of exercise you do is also essential to achieve your goals. In this sense, you should opt for activities that raise your heart rate, if what you want is to lose weight. Opt for cardiovascular activity (zumba, aerobic, swimming, running ...) that you enjoy the most and complement it with strength exercises, which are essential to accelerate the rhythm of your metabolism.

To be healthy
According to the American Cancer Society , it is advisable to do at least 45 to 50 minutes of exercise 5 times a week to avoid the risk of suffering from breast cancer. 

For its part, the American College of Sports Medicine recommends all people under 65 years of exercise about 30 minutes of moderate exercise 5 times a week or 20 minutes of vigorous exercise 3 times a week. This is a way to keep the heart healthy.

The ideal is that you create a routine that you enjoy, that contemplates different types of activities. If you still do not like the idea, you can start by incorporating exercise into your life by making only a few small changes in your routine. For example, if you live in a building or work in one, replace the elevator with the stairs and go to all the places you can by walking at a rapid pace. In the event that you take the bus to go to work, get off a few stops before and do the rest of the journey walking.
