Beware: 5 signs of heart attack in women who are not chest pain

31% of all deaths in the world are due to cardiovascular diseases, which take the lives of almost 18 million people each year, according to the World Health Organization.

Although the classic symptom of a heart attack is usually chest pain or pressure, this symptom is not the only symptom. These are the other five frequent signs that you should know.

1. Cold sweat
On many occasions, women have pointed to cold sweat as one of the symptoms prior to a heart attack. While this may be a sign of other ailments, it is important to be vigilant, especially if it is accompanied by other symptoms.

2. Pressure in the back
"Women can experience a heart attack without chest pressure," says Nieca Goldberg, a volunteer with the American Heart Association. Instead, they may experience other signs, such as back pressure.

According to Dr. Goldberg , many women have described the pressure as if they had been tied to a rope with a lot of pressure.

3. Difficulty breathing
On many occasions, difficulty breathing is a sign of heart attack, especially in women. You feel "like you've run a marathon, but you have not made a move," Goldberg said.

4. Dizziness or lightheadedness
Dizziness or lightheadedness, when accompanied by other symptoms, is a sign of a possible heart attack, Goldberg says.

5. Pain in the neck or jaw
Heart attacks are usually associated with chest pain. However, in certain cases, the affliction could occur in the neck, jaw, arms, back or stomach.

The symptoms, while subtle, are also clear. In this line, Goldberg calls women to pay attention. The consequences of a heart attack can be deadly.

If you think you are suffering from a heart attack, you should call the doctor or 911. Immediate attention is what will save your life.
