Discover the amount of calories that your favorite drinks bring

Not only are you what you eat, but also what you drink. If you do not want to gain more weight, these tips will be helpful.

If you have started a healthy eating plan to lose a few extra pounds, you will know that alcoholic beverages are not the best allies in your battle to lose weight. But what to do if social commitments put you in front of a glass of wine or some kind of liquor?

First, always keep in mind that alcoholic beverages are known for their 'hollow calories' because they do not provide any nutritional benefit, on the contrary, they accumulate in the body in the form of fat or adipose tissue.

For this reason, says nutritionist Karla Gutiérrez , it is important to know the nutritional content of the most popular alcoholic beverages and know how to balance the amounts to be consumed. Keep in mind that distilled beverages (such as pisco) have more calories than fermented beverages (such as beer) because of the alcohol content.

Do not forget that consuming alcoholic drinks increases appetite and this does not help those who want to lose weight.
  • The wine is not only one of the most consumed and one that provides fewer calories drinks.
  • Our star aperitif, the pisco sour, provides 350 Kcal while the pure Pisco (100 ml) represents 210 kcal.
  • The beer is one of the most popular alcoholic beverages. A medium glass (200 ml.) Is equivalent to eating a whole piece of bread. It provides 100 Kcal.
  • The mojito represents 217 kcal. When choosing a drink avoid cocktails or sweet drinks because to include more sugar or syrups have more calories.
  • The algorrobina cocktail is irresistible for its pleasant flavor but before placing your order consider that this alcoholic beverage provides 600 kcal.
  • If you love fruit cocktails , such as peach daikiri, consider that a glass of this drink represents 280 kcal.
  • The popular pina colada contributes 230 kcal for the sugars and syrup it contains, in addition to alcohol. If you dare for this 'classic' of girls, take it sips to last you all night.
  • If you love pure Whiskey you should know that 150 ml of this drink represents 360 kcal. Accompany it with ice and water to not take more than necessary.
  • The rum is another popular drink in our midst. Although 100 ml of rum provide 305 kcal, this value increases when combined with soda.
  • Of all these drinks, red wine consumption is recommended due to the amount of photochemicals they contain, which makes it a beverage rich in antioxidants and acts against cellular aging. This drink represents 83 kcal.
